Cameron Maclean
Cameron began his profession in 2002 at Hinckley Yachts in Southwest Harbor, Maine. There, he learned the craft of brightwork alongside men who had spent their lives caring for boats—craftsmen whose standards were rooted in patience, precision, and respect for the work.
For 11 years at Hinckley, Cameron developed a deep appreciation for the old-fashioned methods behind a truly lasting finish: thoughtful preparation, careful attention to detail, hard work, and the time required to do each step properly. He then brought those same standards to Midcoast Maine, where he spent another eight years at Great Island Boatyard, continuing to refine his craft and broaden his experience.
In 2021, Cameron began Maclean’s Brightwork. After more than 25 years in the profession, he brings enduring quality, consistency, and pride to every project. His work is never rushed, and he does not compromise on materials, preparation, or attention to detail.
At Maclean’s Brightwork, the goal is simple: work done with honor and integrity, a finish that is built to last, and care that respects both the boat and the person who owns it.
